our first day in Las Vegas!!

Hi Tim here!

Now we arrived to McCarran airport (the name of Las Vegas airport) and the airport is very big. The plan we took to Las Vegas was the worst disgusting plan I ever had seen. The plan has no toilet and it has nothing  you can buy from. The plan was very small to Lucas who is a very tall man has problem whit the legroom. And when Lucas standup he hit the roof whit the top of his head. And Johan who has a pee problem, the problem is that he has to pee about 30 minutes after he has been drinking something. And me I have a little airplane phobia, and when I saw the disgusting plan I was so afraid that i´d never been before. So all three of us thought it was the worst flight we have flight in our life. So the first Johan did when we arrived was to run to first best toilet, and after 10 minutes he come back and I asked if it was good to pee. And he said that the line up to the toilet was to long so he ran outside and pee behind a big bush. And Johan said that it was the best feeling he had in is whole life. And the first Lucas did when he came out of the plan was to stretch out his legs and his knees. And after that decide we us to take an taxi to our hotel Bellagio hotel. The ride took about 15 minutes and it felt like the rike took 5 minutes because the taxi driver was very interesting on ice hockey so we had a nice talk. And we give him extra tip beacuase we are going to win big money in Las vegas

Leaving NYC :(

Last time from Johan here!

Hello everybody, this is my last entry in this blog, and also our last day in NYC. That’s a bit sad… But we still have stuff to do here, right now it´s 8 am and we are already to go out to spend our last day in NYC. Our flight leaves for Las Vegas tonight at 10 pm Eastern time. So we have plenty of time to do the things we want. Today we have decided to go to the Empire State building(that´s a huge landmark for NYC, you can almost see the entire city from that view, it stands as tall as 381 meters(from the watch place) it´s the highest building in NYC, after the twin towers had been destroyed) , which was one of Lucas wishes. So we will start off with that, they open at 9 am so we will have to hurry a bit after this. After we´ve gone to the Empire State building we will go see “Ground Zero” which was Tim´s idea. We all thought that it would be a great idea to see one of the biggest things in American history.

Then we won´t have much time to do anything else, more then to pack our stuff or maybe shop a little bit more and then make our way to the JFK airport, where our flight to Las Vegas leaves from. We´ve have really enjoyed our stay here in NYC and we´ve have had some great experiences for life that you won´t forget easily, especially the NHL game between the New York Rangers and the Chicago Blackhawks. That is all from me. This is Johan signing out.

Awesome day!

Hello there Johan again!

Today was awesome, just amazing!! We started the day with an amazing breakfast at the hotel which was a buffet, we probably sat there for about 2 hours and ate and talked about where we should go before the game we watched tonight. After the breakfast we went to the room and got ready for the day. We went to the Manhattan Mall that is just around the corner from our hotel. They had some amazing clothes and jewelry, but the clothes were a bit too expensive for our taste but the jewelry was at a too good of a price to pass up on. All three of us bought watches, both for us and family members. After that we went back to the hotel room to leave our new bought jewelry, because NYC is almost “famous” for people to get robbed. Then after we walked around the area looking for other places to shop and we did find some really good shops around our hotel and close to the Penn plaza.

After that long day of shopping we were really tired and hungry, so we found a great steakhouse just across the street called Harrington Bar & Grill. I got a BBQ burger, which was just fantastic! Lucas and Tim both got steaks that were also really good, nice and juicy. Then after the meal, we walked to Madison Square Garden to watch the game. And what a game it was!! The Rangers won in a shootout, and the Swedish goalkeeper saved all the shots in the shootout except from Patrick Kane, whom is a god in the shootouts.

This was defiantly one of the best days in my life so far. Tomorrow has a lot to live up to, but like the New York lottery’s motto “Hey, you never know”.  Bye for now.

NYC!!!!

Hi Johan here!

We have just arrived at our beautiful hotel, the Affinia Manhattan. It is just magnificent. The view isn´t the best, but it´s still good. The hotel is just a few hundred meters from Penn station, to Times Square and also to Madison Square Garden was we are going to watch the Rangers vs the Blackhawks tomorrow night. But that is at 7 pm so we have the whole day to go and do other things. Tomorrow we are just going to shop and see the sights that are close to us and to the “Garden”.

The flight here was fine, there were so many movies to watch, all the new releases. But we didn´t just watch movies we talked about our journey and all the things we are going to do and we also played some cards. We are so excited about Las Vegas. Tim has as small “gambling problem”, so he is very excited about that part of the trip, so is Lucas and I but we don´t have the same “problem” as Tim has. Lucas and I are more excited on our stay here in New York; we love hockey and seeing the beautiful sights of a city. We really look forward to tomorrow when we get to see the hockey game and some sights around Times Square and our hotel.

But now we are going out to find a bite to eat, probably a steakhouse or an Italian restaurant. Since we´re hockey players we really like meat, therefore the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant for the pasta and maybe some pizza. We love pasta and pizza. But I´m signing out now see you around.

Welcome to our blog!!

Hi Johan here!!

This blog is for our journey to America. We are three hockey guys from Sweden traveling to the US to watch    some hockey and see the sights of New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Right now we´re at Heathrow in London waiting for our flight to New York. As I said we are three guys, my name is Johan and I´m traveling with Tim and Lucas. Our plane leaves in about 45 minutes and then an 8 hour flight to New York, in New York we will watch a hockey game between the Rangers and the Blackhawks, we will also be sightseeing in the city and go to top of the Empire State building. That is just some of the things we´ll be doing in the city of New York.

In Las Vegas we will just have a relaxing time; we will just walk down the Strip watching the beautiful hotels, like the Cosmopolitan, MGM and the Monte Carlo. But probably the most exciting thing about our stay in Las Vegas is the helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon. Also we will try our luck in the casino, at the Bellagio where we will also be staying.  I´ve been to Las Vegas once before but that was when I was 16, so then I couldn´t gamble but now I will try my luck and hopefully win.

In LA we will watch another hockey game, this one between the Los Angeles Kings and the St Louis Blues, my favorite player plays for the Kings, whom is Drew Doughty and Lucas favorite player is TJ Oshie from the Blues. Also we will visit the Universal Studios and walk on Venice Beach.

Hopefully you will follow us on our Journey through the United States of America. See you around!!
